Stock M3aC is no slouch. Sporting a 240HP 3.2L inline 6, it sprints from
0-60 mph in 6.7 seconds and through the quarter mile in 14.9 sec at 98
mph, all with no more driver effort required than just mashing on the throttle.

| In deciding on a set of modifications, we wanted something which would preserve all the user-friendliness and reliability of the stock car, but would give it a large dollop of additional performance. There are a few top-notch BMW tuners in the US, and of them Dinan is known for its "performance without compromise" philosophy for building very high-performance packages which don't require any sacrifice from the driver. Dinan headquarters also happen to be 10 miles from where we live, so the decision was easy. | |||||||||||||||||

| Dinan's top-of-the-line S3 signature package includes new shocks, struts, sway bars, camber plates, chassis bracing, a stainless steelcat-back exhaust system...and, for good measure, a 6.5psi Vortech supercharger! Other changes include a higher-performance fuel system, upgraded cooling, and reprogrammed ECU and transmission. To this excess we added a new 3.73 BMW differential gearset to give our car the same gearing as the 5-speed manual M3. The finishing touch was a set of SSR Integrale 18x8" forged aluminum wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport 235/35-18 tires, shaving 2-3 lbs off each corner of the car and improving handling and grip considerably. | |||||||||||||||||
